Tyler Brodt and Carla Majczan joined the board this summer and answered a few questions to share a little about themselves. Welcome to both!
Q&A with Tyler Brodt

LVRR: How many years have you been a member of LVRR?
Tyler: I officially joined LVRR in 2024. I started with the Ice Scrapers Series and have done most races with LVRR.
LVRR: What do you hope to contribute as a Board Member?
Tyler: As a new Board Member, I’m eager to learn and listen to the community. I want to identify the areas where help is most needed. My goal is to find a way to foster a greater love for running among runners of all abilities. Additionally, I’m committed to increasing the involvement of members in the organization.
LVRR: Where is your favorite place to train?
Tyler: Ironton Rail Trail, within the City of Bethlehem, and Lehigh Parkway.
LVRR: What is your favorite hobby?
Tyler: Traveling, cooking, doing puzzles, and tending to my houseplants.
LVRR: What is your favorite book?
Tyler, I’m an avid reader, but I don’t have a specific book to name right now. I particularly enjoy stories with unexpected twists, suspense, and satisfying conclusions. Stephen King and James Patterson are two authors who come to mind.
LVRR: What is your day job?
Tyler: I work as an assistant to a financial advisor at an investment firm.
LVRR: Any running goals for 2026?
Tyler: I’m training for my first half marathon. I’m feeling a bit nervous, but hey, if I can comfortably complete a 10k, then what’s a few more miles?
LVRR: What are your goals for the club?
Tyler: To ensure that the club remains a welcoming, friendly, and enjoyable place for all runners in the Lehigh Valley.
Q & A with Carla Majczan

LVRR: How many years have you been a member of LVRR?
Carla: Honestly, I am not 100% sure. When I look into my run sign-up app it shows I attended the 2016 May Summer Series as my first.
LVRR: What do you hope to contribute as a Board Member?
Carla: I think that I can help other people be able to see themselves as “runners” even if they don’t feel that they are. I love motivating people to be involved and put their health first and to show other Diabetics that you can be healthy and not let your Diabetes define you.
LVRR: Where is your favorite place to train?
Carla: Honestly, anywhere with friends. The location isn’t the most important piece for me, it is more about being with supportive, fun, and friendly people who you like to be around. With that said, I do love changing things up and not training in the same place too much. And I do love a trail!
LVRR: What is your favorite hobby?
Carla: I am an artist so anything creative involving art is one of my favorite things to do, but even more than that is spending time with my dog, walking her or doing dog-friendly events. I started a group called the LV Pack Walkers on Facebook because I wanted to create a safe. structured environment for her to be with other dogs and socialize with them. We walk all over the Lehigh Valley and have met over 200 dogs in the past two years! Animal welfare is so important to me and what I am involved in most, outside of health/fitness and art.
LVRR: What is your favorite book?
Carla: I don’t think I have a favorite book. I love Chuck Palahniuk, so anything he has written I enjoy, but honestly I love reading anything except historical or war books.
LVRR: What is your day job?
Carla: I am a middle school art teacher. I also work for the Bethlehem Police Department as a dog walker.
LVRR: Any running goals for 2026?
Carla: To just keep ENJOYING running! I am always working to increase my miles and feel comfortable at longer distances. Now, I want to make sure I do this while enjoying it and not feeling hurt. I am hoping I will be healthy enough and not hurt to do my first half marathon at the Bethlehem Running Festival this year!
LVRR: What are your goals for the club?
Carla: Increasing membership and helping with sponsorships and donations to increase our ability to support our community.
