Spring At Last

There is light at the end of the tunnel! You may have already heard that we are currently planning two of our races: The Emmaus 4 Miler will take place on April 11th with some slight changes such as wearing masks when social distancing is less than 6 feet, everything will take place outdoors, and no award ceremony. But, we are racing IN PERSON which is super exciting! This is our first in-person race since the pandemic began over a year ago.

We are also forging ahead with our Kids Series with a venue change (Bicentennial Park in Bethlehem), limited spots, and one parent/guardian per child. Masks and social distancing will be in effect. Signups are not currently available but you can sign up to get an email once registration opens. Please visit https://lvrr.org/kids-series/ for that signup form. The race dates will be June 26, July 10, and August 7. Registration for the June race will open first and once that race is over, July registration will open. The same goes for August. We will not have race day registration.

Summer Series – We have heard back from the City of Allentown. They are welcoming recreational events back into the parks, but not allowing large-scale races. For this reason, we will offer you our own version of a “recreational” run, a.k.a. “Fun Run” — No bibs, no time clock, no picnic. More details to follow!

As for the St. Luke’s Half and 5k, everything is changing so quickly right now with gathering restrictions, etc. We are still moving along with our planning but have not yet opened registration. Hopefully, we can open that soon. Spaces will be limited and we will have a waitlist set up once we hit our race caps.

Hey to all of you high school seniors! It’s time to start filling out those scholarship applications and we have a total of $24,000 to give away. The deadline to apply is May 31 and we have several scholarships available ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 so please visit our scholarship page and read up on the different qualifications as they vary from scholarship to scholarship.

The City of Allentown is also allowing us to continue our Group Runs in Lehigh Parkway but we are in need of Group Run Leaders. If you feel comfortable and are able to lead a group run in the Parkway, please send us an email at contact@lvrr.org.

Emmaus 4 Mile Classic
APRIL 11 | 9:30 AM EMMAUS HIGH SCHOOL
This race is officially sold out! It is our first in-person race in a year and we cannot wait to see you!
Registration was capped at 200 runners. We are using a wave start that you select when you sign up and ask that everyone wears a mask when unable to maintain a 6-foot social distance.
Volunteers still needed.
