Last month, we received a grant request from the Palmerton Track Parent’s Club to help purchase shirts for the middle school and high school track and field athletes. In prior years the Parent’s Club was able to raise funds from their concession stand but as we are all well aware, COVID restrictions have really hampered nearly everything we do and school programs have also felt the impact.
Six years ago Palmerton had a total of four junior high athletes and only six athletes on the girls’ high school team. The coaches have worked hard to build this team back up to its current numbers. In 2019, the boys’ team won the Colonial League Championship, and three out of four state qualifiers medaled.
