Rick Heimbach has joined the Board of Directors after a call for nominations when Ed Lundeen stepped off this fall. Please join us in welcoming Rick to the Board.
How many years have you been a member of LVRR?
Seven years. However, I’d like to note that I was a founding member of the Emmaus Road Runners which later merged with the Lehigh Valley Athletic Association to form the LVRR. I left the area in 1982 and spent my entire career overseas (I came home summers quite often but probably didn’t pay my club dues), but I have been a member in good standing since I retired and returned to the Lehigh Valley in 2016.
What do you hope to contribute as a Board Member?
I hope to provide a historical perspective.
Where is your favorite place to train?
In a swimming pool. My running days are over.
What is your favorite hobby?
Digitizing my photo collection from 35mm slides and negatives.
What is your favorite book?
The Quotable Runner. Will-Weber, Mark. 1995.
What is your day job?
Department of Defense Dependents Schools, Retired.
Any running goals for 2024?
Probably not.
What are your goals for the club?
The LVRR has met and surpassed goals that were beyond my wildest imagination back when we started this, so I hope to contribute in some small way in maintaining the LVRR’s position as the premiere running club in the Lehigh Valley by focusing my energy on the club’s youth programs.
