Congratulations to all scholarship recipients and applicants on your tremendous accomplishments! Over two Wednesday evenings in July, we welcomed the newest scholarship recipeints into the LVRR family. Scholarship committee members along with LVRR Board members celebrated our Class of 2022 recipients with their family, friends and coaches.
While the specific criteria varies for each scholarship, scholarships are awarded based upon academic excellence, athletic performance, extracurricular activities, community involvement, personal essays, and letters of recommendation.
This year had the largest application pool of 36 applications across 14 high schools with Intended majors mostly in Engineering, Sciences, Medical or Business-related. We also increased our committee size to accomodate the growth. A huge thank you to the Scholarship Committee for the countless volunteer hours they dedicate to this distinguised process.
We look forward to the Scholarship ceremony each year and are so proud to “pass it on” as each scholarship is funded by our race proceeds and by you, are club members and runners. Thank you for enabling us to continue this prestigous tradition for almost 30 years.
