Did you know the LVRR has several sub-committees? Since January 2012 the Grant Committee has awarded $377,461.29 to community non-profit organizations. Current members of the Grant Committee are Jill Forsythe, Brian Patterson, Laurie Reinhart, Lloyd Trego, and Neal Novak. Grant requests can be submitted on the LVRR website.

Brian Patterson is a member of the Grant Committee. He was the LVRR President in 1995 when the LVRR hosted the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Convention in Allentown.
Q: How many years have you been a member of LVRR?
A: I’ve been a member for about 30 years.
Q: What have you accomplished as a Board Member?
A: I have been a race director of club races. I’ve been President of the club for a number of years after the clubs, ERR and LVAA merged. I’ve been a race scorer and timer of club races for over 25 years. I moved the club to electronic race scoring over 25 years ago. I have served on the grants committee for a number of years. I successfully submitted Allentown as an RRCA “Runner Friendly City”. I have worked on the Half Marathon committee from the time it was the Prevention Half Marathon until the present, including timing the race for several years in those early years.
Q: Where is your favorite place to train?
A: I have retired from running but the Parkway trails always felt like a sanctuary from running on roads. I think the most enchanting places I have run are Cades Cove near Knoxville, TN and in Garden of the Gods outside of Colorado Springs, CO.
Q: What is your favorite hobby?
A: My favorite hobby right now is geocaching when I’m not catching up with the antics of my one and only grandson.
Q: What was your day job?
A: I worked in retail before working as a middle school teacher for 18 years. Now retired, I eat when hungry and sleep when tired.
Q: Any running goals for 2020?
A: Walking at a good pace will continue to be a goal.
Q: Any goals for the club?
A: I will continue to work to keep the club a vital organization in the Lehigh Valley, part of the valley’s positive quality of life.

Laurie Reinhart is the race director for the Tailgate Trot held on Super Bowl Sunday. She is also a member of the Grant Committee and serves as Secretary for the Board of Directors.
Q: How many years have you been a member of LVRR?
A: About 14 years.
Q: What have you accomplished as a Board Member?
A: I started the summer family hikes and have recruited new board and committee members.
Q: Where is your favorite place to train?
A: The Parkway.
Q: What is your favorite hobby?
A: Playing outside with my friends.
Q: What is your day job?
A: Chiropractor @ Spine and Sport Chiropractic
Q: Any running goals for 2020?
A: Running for fitness, recreation and longevity.

A: Continue to build the running community.
