Q&A with Conor Fisher

LVRR: What college will you attend and what is your intended major of study? Do you plan to run while attending college?
CF: I will be attending Kutztown University, intended major in finance. Yes, I am committed to running at Kutztown.

LVRR: What age did you start running and why?
CF: I starting running at 7 years old because when I played soccer, I was always first to the ball but had no idea what to do with it.

LVRR: What is your greatest accomplishment in your running career?
CF: Qualifying for cross country states individually all four years in high school.

LVRR: Describe an experience where you had to “sink or swim.” What did you learn from it?
CF: When I dislocated my knee, I had to learn that recovery takes time.

LVRR: Who has been your most influential role model and why?
CF: My dad, because he has always pushed me to be a better athlete and person

LVRR: What would most people be surprised to learn about you?
CF: I am an all-American triathlete

LVRR: What is one word you would say to someone who has just started running– whether it be a youth in the LVRR Kids Series, or an older individual- about why running is worth it?
CF: Community

LVRR: Is anyone else in your family a runner?
CF My dad ran at the high school and collegiate level.

LVRR: What events did you run in high school?
CF: 800m, 1600m, 3200m, and 4x800m

LVRR: What is your favorite event to watch that you don’t do yourself and why?
CF: Pole vault because of how different it is from running which makes it more entertaining for me to watch

LVRR: What injuries are you susceptible to?
CF: Knee related injuries

LVRR: When faced with a rare but disappointing race finish or workout, how do you pick up and motivate yourself to try again? Is there a specific running mantra that has helped you pull through disappointment?
CF: I socialize with the people around me, especially if I feel disappointed after a dual meet or a league/district performance

LVRR: What are three activities you enjoy doing apart from running?
CF: Fishing, snowboarding, and paddleboarding

LVRR: What extracurricular activities (outside of running) and community involvement have your participated in?
CF: Healthy Kids Running Series and Women’s Breast Cancer 5K volunteer

Conor attended Emmaus High School and will attend Kutztown University to major in Business & Finance.
