In 1977, Lehigh Valley Road Runners produced our first marathon, hosting 300 runners for an entry fee of $3.00. In 1984, we shortened the race to a half marathon distance and have been holding this event each year since then, with the exception of two unfortunate Covid years. Major sponsorship has changed over the years, yet the race continues to be owned and operated by LVRR.
St. Luke’s Health Network has been our presenting sponsor since 2010. The race is the primary fundraiser for LVRR, supporting our free events, scholarships, grant program, and more.
Race weekend includes three events: half marathon, 5k, and youth run. Saturday’s race expo is where runners pick up their race materials and can visit a variety of vendors.
