The Lehigh Valley's Premier Running Club

Bring your little ones out for fresh air and a fun walk in the park. Help them enjoy walking, running and exercise as they have the opportunity to play, enjoy nature and talk with friends along the way.
Please bring water to carry and wear comfortable shoes and clothes that can get wet. You may also want to have a snack for after the walk. Be prepared for sun and heat.
Invite others to join. The more we have the more fun it will be and we can split-up according to ability and activity level.

Hiking at South Mountain

The kids enjoyed some bouldering
Just confirmed our tour for tomorrow. Sounds like a great time. Please be on time to the parking lot we really should get started on our walk right after 1.
I’ve been getting feedback that you guys really liked the day we did the orange loop at South Mountain. We can def do that again. I was also wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a bigger loop. Because of little kids and time constraints we can’t do that on a Thursday playdate, but if anyone is interested in a longer / fast hike, contact me and we’ll plan to do it another time.

By popular demand, we’re returning to South Mountain Thursday, July 29 to do the orange loop. This is a single track trail, mostly shaded and not stroller friendly. Please wear comfortable shoes and play clothes and bring water to carry. Meet in the Alpine Street Parking lot at 1. We’ll be back before 2:30.
This loop is great fun and exercise for you and your kids. 1.7 miles of adventure, hills and dirt and rock climbing.

Hi guys! Just wanted to give directions to where we’ll be meeting on Thursday. This hike will be an easy one, the trail is crushed cinder and very stroller friendly. We’ll meet at the parking lot at the ford at Jordan Creek and walk down to Geiger’s Bridge and back. Dress your kids in their bathing suits and bring a towel so that they can walk in the creek after the hike. The creek is approx. 12 inches deep and in some places slightly deeper. It’s a ton of fun walking around, even for the parents! Hope to see you on Thurday.
Directions: To get to Trexler Nature Preserve, follow either Rt 100 north or 309 north and follow signs to Lehigh Valley Zoo.
Enter the zoo and follow the road, bypassing the zoo parking area and merging right towards Central Range.
Soon you will see Jordan Creek. Turn left to park before fording the creek.
We’ll meet at the Pedestrian Bridge and hike the Covered Bridge Trail (double red blazed trail) which is approx. 1.5 mile loop.
These are great events. Unfortunately, I did not find out about them until the last event of the summer (Camp Olympic). Wish I knew about them earlier. Great idea for kids to enjoy nature and to be outside. Hope the events continue in the future and look forward to coming next summer with my 2 sons.
We hope you can attend our final gathering for this summer! We’ll be at Camp Olympic in Emmaus, meet at 1pm in the parking lot off Cedar Crest/Rt. 29.
Thank you to all the kids and parents, grandparents and care givers who were able to make this new program a success!
Be sure to check back next summer for more exciting hikes and activities as we continue to grow this new program.
Yeah! Finally some summer weather. And we are anxious;y looking ahead to when the kids are out of school and we can play the day away in the woods.
Our first Family fun Hike will be on Thursday, June 30 at 1PM at the Upper Saucon Park. Stay tuned at http://www.lvrr.org for more details. We are anticipating better series with more to offer and more families involved.
